Families Embracing Autism Together (FEAT) is a non-profit organization that works to partner with area families and educators to promote community awareness and provide free education, training and resources to those impacted by autism spectrum disorder and other types of disabilities in Southside, Virginia.
Role Description
As a Resource Navigator at FEAT, you will play a crucial role in providing direct support to families navigating the complexities of autism spectrum disorder. This person will serve as a knowledgeable guide and advocate, assisting families in accessing essential services, resources, and support networks tailored to their specific needs, this role will involve empathetic listening, providing information on available services, and helping families understand their options for support.
Key Responsibilities:
Information & Referral Coordination
· Receive, coordinate, and respond to information and referral inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
· Distribute inquiries to appropriate team members and provide accurate and relevant resources to families.
· Maintain comprehensive logs of communications and gather feedback through surveys to improve service delivery.
Resource Development & Management
· Develop and maintain a robust database of resources, categorized by relevant topics, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
· Regularly audit and update referral sources to ensure quality and effectiveness.
· Identify and address gaps in available resources, collaborating with team members to expand service offerings.
Advocacy & Support
· Advocate on behalf of families to ensure access to appropriate services and accommodations.
· Educate families about autism spectrum disorder, treatment options, and available community resources.
· Collaborate effectively with service providers, educators, and community organizations to enhance support for families.
Administrative Support
· Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including filing, document management, and
maintaining organizational protocols.
· Complete departmental reports and adhere to document retention policies.
· Maintain professionalism and confidentiality while representing FEAT and performing associated responsibilities.
Qualifications:
· Associates degree preferred
· Knowledge of autism and developmental disabilities
· Experience with data collection and reporting
· Excellent communication (i.e., verbal and written) and inter-personal skills
· Excellent customer service experience

Physical Requirements:
· Extended periods sitting or standing for extended periods
· Moderate lifting or moving up to 20 lbs
· Manual dexterity to use office equipment
Details
Hourly: Part time (20-29 hrs./week)
Location: South Hill. Virginia.
Pay Rate: $19-$21
