Family Resource Specialist

  Position Overview

This position serves as a support and advocacy role for families and individuals with developmental disabilities and autism. The Family Resource Specialist helps connect families to meaningful resources, provides guidance and follow-up support, strengthens community partnerships, and assists with outreach, trainings, and special events.

This is a highly relational position that requires compassion, professionalism, flexibility, initiative, and strong communication skills.

  

Responsibilities Include

  • Supporting families through personalized resource navigation 
  • Assisting caregivers with identifying community supports and services 
  • Building relationships with schools, providers, businesses, and organizations 
  • Participating in community outreach and awareness efforts 
  • Assisting with trainings, workshops, and speaking engagements 
  • Maintaining organized documentation and follow-up communication 
  • Collaborating with staff and community partners 
  • Supporting Bailey Center programs and events 

  

Schedule & Availability

  • Full-time position (40 hours/week) 
  • Flexible/floating schedule required 
  • Some evenings and weekends required 
  • Local travel for outreach and partnership development required 

  

Qualifications

  • Passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and their families 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Organized, dependable, and self-motivated 
  • Comfortable speaking with families and community partners 
  • Experience in human services, education, advocacy, or related fields preferred 
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
